Approach for High Achievers in Relationships.

Dr. Nina works with high-achieving individuals and couples who are deeply thoughtful, motivated, and successful—yet often find that stress, responsibility, and fast-paced lives take a toll on connection and intimacy.

Her approach is grounded in an appreciation for diversity, intersectionality, cultural background, and spirituality, and how these shape the ways we relate to ourselves and to one another. In therapy, she helps clients explore how early experiences, internalized messages, and relational patterns show up in the present moment—particularly under pressure.

High achievers often excel externally while feeling disconnected internally or relationally. Dr. Nina helps couples slow down, build awareness, and reconnect with what matters most—creating space for presence, emotional safety, and shared meaning in their relationships.

Her style is warm, relational, evidence-based, and engaging. She values humor when appropriate and is intentional about creating a comfortable, compassionate, and collaborative therapeutic environment. Every story is held with care and without judgment.

Therapy is a partnership. Through a goal-oriented and values-aligned approach, Dr. Nina works side-by-side with individuals and couples to ensure that treatment reflects both their personal goals and their relational vision.

Couple Therapy.

Dr. Nina is a licensed clinical psychologist whose practice is dedicated exclusively to evidence-based couples therapy. She has extensive training in evidence-based relational treatments, including Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) , Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CBCT-PTSD), and Discernment Counseling.

She helps couples first establish emotional safety, then thoughtfully explore and heal relational wounds, improve communication, and deepen connection. With a respectful and co-active therapeutic alliance—combined with the couple’s motivation—partners work toward more meaningful dialogue, emotional closeness, and a resilient, lasting bond.

Dr. Nina places particular emphasis on exploring barriers to emotional, physical, and sexual intimacy, recognizing that intimacy in all its forms is essential to secure and fulfilling partnerships. Creativity, sensuality, and play are welcomed as part of the healing process when appropriate.

Mindfulness and breathwork are often incorporated into sessions to support nervous system regulation, self-attunement, and relational attunement. Couples learn the neuroscience behind emotional and physical triggers and develop a personalized toolkit to manage conflict, stress responses, and recurring patterns more effectively.

In some cases, couples may be discerning whether to continue or end their relationship. When separation or divorce is part of the therapeutic outcome, Dr. Nina supports this process with care, clarity, and emotional safety—helping partners make decisions that align with their values and long-term well-being.

FAQs

  • 100% of my clients are treated virtually, via a HIPAA-compliant medical system. This was a thoughtful decision, as I would like to expand the range of couples I treat. This virtual resource allows me to see clients throughout all PSYPACT states, as well as those located in California.

  • I do not treat children or adolescents. My clients are adults, specifically individuals and couples over the age of 18.

  • My practice operates outside of insurance networks and services are offered on a private-pay basis. Monthly superbills are provided for clients who wish to seek out-of-network coverage. You can submit this form to your insurance plan for partial or total reimbursement, if it is available to you. Further, my sessions are variably eligible for HSA/FSA plans. I suggest you check with your individual insurance provider to verify the above information. Of note, full payment is due at the time of service.

  • My office policy is similar to the industry standard, which includes a 24 hour cancellation notice requirement. A patient ‘no show’, and/or failure to keep a scheduled appointment, without notification 24 hours in advance, will incur fees.
